Questions

Before you apply.

Do I have to sell anything?

No. You make a warm introduction; we hold the conversations, scope the work, write the proposal and close. You never quote a price or negotiate terms.

When is my share paid?

Your share is paid when the client’s first retainer payment clears, and again on every retainer payment after that, for as long as the client stays.

How much is my share?

The exact share is set out in your partner agreement on the Portal, so it is always current. It applies to every retainer payment, so if a client’s retainer grows, so does your share.

How is a referral attributed to me?

The client takes the first step. When they get in touch, they name you, by name or email, as the person who introduced them. Your introduction email, if you sent one, does the same.

What if the client doesn’t sign straight away?

Many don’t. The introduction stays yours while the conversation continues, and you can follow its progress on the Portal.

What happens if the client leaves?

Your share follows the retainer. When the client’s payments stop, so does the share on that client. If they return, tell us.

Which companies can I refer?

Any business that needs serious engineering, trading teams whose research has outrun their engineering, and services firms that need delivery behind their brand. Every one of them is a retainer, and every one earns your share.

Am I an employee?

No. Referral Partners are independent. You introduce companies on your own terms and schedule, with no targets.

What is the difference between a Referral Partner and an Associate?

A Referral Partner introduces and steps back. An Associate leads the client relationship for the life of the client, with training and a delivery team behind them. Both share in client payments.

Is there anything I shouldn’t do?

Never quote prices, timelines or guarantees, never present yourself as a Blackshore employee, and never send unsolicited bulk email in our name. The toolkit covers the rest.
