Referral Partners · How it works

Six steps.
Two of them are yours.

A referral starts with a conversation you are already having, and ends with a share of every retainer payment the client makes. Here is everything in between.

The lifecycle

From introduction to every payment after.

  1. 01

    Spot the need

A business owner mentions a project that stalled, a product they can’t build, an agency that disappeared, or a strategy they can’t take live. That’s the moment.

  2. 02

    Make a warm introduction

Use one of the introduction emails in the toolkit, or ask us to join a call. Tell the client what to expect: a short first conversation, no obligation.

  3. 03

    The client reaches out

The client takes the first step and names you, by name or email, when they get in touch. That is what attributes them to you.

  4. 04

    We take it from there

We hold the first conversation, scope the work and send a written retainer proposal. You can follow progress on the Portal.

  5. 05

    The client signs and pays

The client signs the retainer and makes the first payment. Your share is paid on that payment.

  6. 06

    Your share, every month

Every retainer payment after that earns your share, for the life of the client. No reporting or invoicing on your side.

Doing it well

A few rules that protect your name and ours.

The best introductions are warm, honest and specific. Leave the rest to us.

Do

  • +Introduce people you know and who trust you
  • +Ask the client to mention your name when they get in touch
  • +Describe the outcome: a senior team, one predictable monthly retainer
  • +Let us handle scope, price and timelines
  • +Tell us anything useful about the client’s situation

Don’t

  • –Quote prices, timelines or guarantees
  • –Promise specific people, features or terms
  • –Send unsolicited bulk email in Blackshore’s name
  • –Present yourself as a Blackshore employee
  • –Introduce companies you have a conflict with without telling us
